In 1985 Brian Scullion acquired this abandoned land to develop his enterprise. Yet this was quite the challenge for the young entrepreneur who created within a few years the largest production nursery in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
First wholesaler of ornamental horticulture, the company diversified its activities in 1999 by creating the Jardin Scullion. Becoming a pillar of the tourism industry of the region, his reputation goes far beyond regional boundaries.
This family adventure has allowed Brian Scullion and his wife Josée Fortin, to create over 30 jobs in the community, in addition to conducting tests and experimenting with new cultivars of ornamental plants particularly well adapted to our harsh climate.
In order to continue its development, the Scullion couple founded in 2001 a nonprofit organization, the Foundation Jardin Scullion. This action helps to give a broader view on the mission and the direction of the company, with regards to the educational programs and numerous involvements in the community.
In March 2003, the Scullion couple was awarded the regional winner of the Grand prix du tourisme québécois. In 2004 & 2009 Jardin Scullion won the same honors. With a remarkable tenacity, Brian Scullion is the author of numerous development projects at the Jardin Scullion and it is with excitement that designers envision the future of their business.
